It’s finally here! After months of waiting, Instagram’s new video editing app has launched, becoming a new competitor to CapCut. Meta’s focus with this new launch is to streamline the editing process for users, and give them powerful video creation capabilities, which we’re definitely here for. What do you think? Will you be switching from CapCut to Edits? 👀

One thing about us is that we love Doctor Who. And it was really exciting to see the newest episode of the series featuring Deaf actress, Rose Ayling-Ellis. Here, Ncuti Gatwa, who plays The Doctor, learnt some BSL to communicate with Rose in the story. And there is some great BTS content where Ncuti and Rose talk about the role that BSL plays in the episode. More of this, please!

YouTube has been around for 20 years. Read that again. After two decades, the video platform is coming out with some new features to celebrate their anniversary. The list includes: 4x playback speed, an AI feature to create your own radio channel, voice replies to comments, as well as multi view for YouTube TV subscribers. We are especially intrigued by the voice replies, as that could be a great accessibility feature! Which one is your favourite?

In 2021, Pinterest launched this great initiative that has already helped 350 content producers, and it’s now getting a refresh. Those accepted in the programme will now get access to training and resources to help them optimise their content. This will help increase pin saves and outbound clicks for creators and businesses from underrepresented communities.

Grace Buckle is not just the best female heavyweight in England, but she’s also a CODA and BSL interpreter. She has recently shared how much sign language helps her in the ring, as it helps her ready body language. Buckle has also been teaching fitness classes for groups like the Deaf Ethnic Women’s Association, and highlights the importance of visual cues for successful sessions. An amazing ally to the community!

Sometimes all you need in life are simple things, like a sunny day and Purple Goat.

While many brands are moving away from DEI, Lush is not one of them. They’ve launched a campaign in partnership with trans-led organisations to advocate for trans rights and support the community. The campaign includes the release of a limited edition ‘Liberation’ bath bomb, with 75% of proceeds donated to TransActual and My Genderation.
Yes, Lush!
