(1/5) Instagram’s New Design Update 🎨

Instagram is changing its layout and brands need to know about it..

As some people have noticed, the new design would include the app opening on the Reels tab, highlighting the big push from the app for short-form content.

However, they seem to want to give users some freedom by creating their own feed based on the content they want to see. Choosing from friends’ content, saved content, or even posts-only content, which would mean hiding all reels from the viewer.

This is definitely an interesting update and one that makes sense with the app’s engagement being focused on videos, so if you’re a brand not investing in this format, please consider it. But if you don’t know where to start, send us a message 🤝.

(2/5) B&Q Introduces Stoma-Friendly Toilets 🍾

After listening to their customers, we’re excited to see that B&Q has upgraded their disabled toilets across stores to be more stoma-friendly.

This means having including hooks for clothing or bags, a shelf to have a space where to put medical supplies, as well as a mirror so stoma-bag users can see themselves while changing their bags.

Small and practical changes can make a huge difference in the lives of disabled people, and we hope to see other retailers follow suit. When you create an accessible space, more people will want to come in!

(3/5) TikTok Shop Could End Up in The Top-3 Global Retailers 🛍️

TikTok Shop has been growing rapidly over the last year, and some brands have leaned into it to drive their sales, but it seems that more companies should be jumping to the opportunity.

A new report estimates that TikTok Shop could end up in the top three biggest retailers by 2030, with Amazon in number one (stealing Walmart’s current position), followed by Pinduoduo, a Chinese e-commerce platform.

While we can’t confirm this outcome, there is a high likelihood that TikTok Shop will continue growing over the next few years, and brands shouldn’t miss out in this opportunity, as the platform could be driving $1 trillion in sales in less than four years.

(4/5) Trend Spotlight: I do 🤳

If you want to highlight all the things your company does for your customers or clients, this is the best way to do it in a social-first entertaining way that everyone will love.

Everyone deserves a good relationship 😉

(5/5) Campaign Spotlight: Foot Locker 🏆

The ‘Share the Moment’ campaign deserves our shout out this week not only for being Foot Locker ‘s first Ramadan campaign, but because it was made in collaboration with FUTURECULTUREX , a Muslim-led agency!

The film doesn’t follow actors, it follows real Muslim friends and families in the UK through their daily journeys during Ramadan.

The power that community can bring to a campaign is immense, especially when you work with them from the very beginning, and they are there behind the camera, something we often talk about with clients at Purple Goat, as a disability-led agency.

As Amran Abdi, Founder of the FCX said: “We did not research this community from the outside. We are the community” 🙌.
