We all know the power of short-form content, and while every social media platform has jumped in the bandwagon, Disney+ launching short-form videos was not in our 2026 bingo card.

However, it makes a lot of sense. And brands should be paying attention.

Disney+ is trying to be more than just a classic streaming service, it wants to become your platform for daily content, from news, to clips from shows and social videos. All your media in one place.

The plan is to launch in the US this year, and it will evolve and become more personalised with time.

(2/6) Instagram Rolls Out Algorithm Control Option 🎛️

If you have been fighting with your algorithm lately, you’re going to love this.

The latest update from the Meta team will allow all English speaking users to tune their algorithm on the app, and remove or add topics based on their interests.

Furthermore, added to the ‘New Year, New Me’ motto that many will be focusing on this month, Instagram will also give you the chance to tell the algorithm your top three interests for 2026. This is perfect for those wanting to make changes in their lives, and using social media as a source of inspiration and education.

However, if you were already seeing content you’re interested in, this update won’t make much of a difference to your life. So, will you be trying it out or leaving things as they were?

(3/6) Molly Mae x Adidas 👟

Molly Mae is once again proving the power that influencers and a strong brand image can have. In her latest venture, she is collaborating with Adidas on a limited trainer collection that will align with her personal style, focusing on nudes and basic colours.

As we know, this is not the first time Mae does something in the fashion industry, starting with PrettyLittleThing and her own brand Maebe. However, fans are showing mixed emotions with regards to this collaboration (even though it’s not live yet).

Whether you’ll love it or hate, eyes will be on it, lots of them 👀

(4/6) YouTube Launches Carousels in its Shorts Feed 📷

While short-form content should be a priority for brands, you shouldn’t ignore the power of a good carousel.

YouTube has joined Instagram and TikTok and is starting to show carousels in its YT Shorts feed.

If your brand wants to trial it out, now is the perfect moment, as it will be new and exciting for users on the platform.

(5/6) Trend Spotlight: Meme face 🤳

Brands, listen up, this is a really easy and fun trend that you can use to connect with your audience. Simply share something that your customers would relate to, whether that is an unpopular opinion, a myth, or a funny comment.

(6/6) Campaign Spotlight: Childline 🏆

Not all Blue Monday campaigns have to be sad..

This year, House of Oddities has collaborated with ChildLine for a campaign called ‘Race to a Milli’, aimed at highlighting the struggles that teenagers face online.

The campaign had all the perfect ingredients, an engaging creative idea, a game show format, a creator collaboration, and at the end, a social experiment with powerful insights and meaning.

We loved it!
