Asda is launching its first ever charity TikTok Shop to raise awareness and funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month through the Tickled Pink campaign.

The bundle, that customers can now purchase, is formed by nine products, all in pink packaging, costing £7.17. To make this initiative even more thoughtful, the price has been chosen to represent the 1 in 7 women who get diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK.

This is a fantastic and impactful campaign that uses a platform like TikTok to create real change in the world!

(2/7) Report Finds Facebook and TikTok Are Key News Sources

TikTok is the new Google. And new research from Pew Research Center is confirming this new trend we had probably known for a while.

So it’s no surprise to see that TikTok isn’t the only social media platform. With 38% of U.S. adults regularly getting news updates from Facebook, followed by YouTube (36%) then TikTok (20%) and Instagram (20%).

This shows clearly that 1) consumers are engaged social media users, 2) they trust what they hear from influencers, and 3) it’s another reason for brands to tap into educational content online.

(3/7) I Want Nike, Puma and Adidas To Sell Single Shoes

Sport brands out there, listen up!

Performative representation isn’t true inclusion.

Stef Reid, ex-Paralympian champion, is campaigning to see change in sports brands like Nike, PUMA or Adidas, to start selling single shoes. And this isn’t just Stef’s struggle, many Disabled people in the world don’t need two shoes, but still need to spend hundreds of pounds on wasted shoes.

The main issue comes when brands try to be inclusive in the surface (with disabled mannequins, which we love to see), but then don’t sell shoes individually for people like Stef.

Inclusion is a long-term strategy, and it has to be embedded into every aspect of your brand. It’s not hard to do and it’s not “too expensive”. It means creating real change in the industry and showing that you care and listen to your customers. And trust us, the surprising results and ROI are definitely worth it.

(4/7) Quality Representation in Ads Boosts Sales and Loyalty

Channel 4 ’s latest Mirror on the Industry report has found that 77% of people agree DEI is important in advertising.

Even though representation has improved in the past few years, there are still several communities left behind from authentic representation on TV. This shows a clear gap, but also a great opportunity for brands to connect with audiences through diverse cast and authentic inclusive comms.

Our very own Dom Hyams said it clearly during the event C4 held last week: “There is absolute commercial drive if you are a brand and if you are not doing this stuff, you are making a mistake.”

(7/7) Campaign Spotlight: Google

Google knew what they were doing with its latest ‘Vanilla’ campaign 🍦

The ad uses ‘vanilla ice-cream’ in a clever way to position Google Pixel’s competitors as boring and unimaginative, while also highlighting Pixel 10’s impressive AI capabilities.

Vanilla is okay, but you can find so much better, right?
