Rose has been Deaf since birth, and she is best known for her appearance in EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing, but she now has an exciting BBC One show! She will be teaching a group of retirees British Sign Language (BSL), as she is a BSL user herself.
With around 75% of older people experiencing some sort of hearing loss, Rose’s BSL experiment hopes to change lives! A very exciting and heartwarming show that we hope will reduce stigma around deafness and sign language.

We first talked about the new Instagram app ‘Edits’ back in January, and mentioned how it was meant to provide creators with the best content tools. Now we are able to get a sneak peek of how the platform is going to look. Expect project management features, options to precisely isolate objects in videos, and even a ‘Made with Edits’ label that you will be able to see on Instagram Reels.
We’re looking forward to testing it out!

You might have noticed certain people with a sunflower lanyard, this is The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, a discreet sign that shows that the wearer has a hidden disability and may need additional support. But this has gone even farther, and the Sunflower Extra has been created.
More confidence, more privacy, more support. That’s what the new Sunflower Extra card offers users. By tapping your card into your phone, your profile comes up and the staff will know how to assist you, without the need to share absolutely everything about your condition, or having lengthy explanations.

This week’s newest Instagram feature is the 2x speed on Reels!
Some of you have probably been looking forward to this update for a while, and with TikTok already having it, Instagram obviously had to include it sooner or later. It’s great for accessibility as well! For those users that find it difficult to pay attention to longer videos.
Will you be using it?

Another great accessibility update!
TikTok had been lacking on the accessibility front for a while, so we’re really excited to see them having alt text available for images on the app, especially seeing how much picture-based content has been growing on the app.
Definitely a great step in the right direction!
We’re loving this trend at the moment, as it shows creators going back in time and showing moments in their lives before something big happened. This one by Meredith is the perfect example that consistency does pay off!
Creative agency, Don’t Panic, and the National Autistic Society have created a beautiful ad for Autism Awareness Month. The short film tells the story of a real dad and daughter, both of them autistic, and it has a team of Neurodivergent creatives behind the camera as well! As Ada Rose at Don’t Panic explained, “Our goal was to show that generational change is needed in how we, as a society, show up for autistic people, what the stakes are, and that we can and must make that more supportive world happen”.
