We are big fans of Rare Beauty at PG, and we were so excited to see that their new fragrance had been designed with accessibility in mind!
All of Rare Beauty products have accessible packaging, making them easier to use for those with dexterity issues (like founder Selena Gomez), and the new perfume is no exception. The bottle for the rich vanilla and spicy scent, was designed after conducting a research and working with experts, resulting in an ergonomic bottle that ensures the most effortless and comfortable dispensing.
An amazing role model for other beauty brands out there!

Social media has a huge impact on purchasing behaviours, we know that, but what are consumers searching for and buying on platforms like TikTok? The Chinese app has now shared some insights as to what product trends brands should keep an eye on across verticals. This can be really helpful to understand what resonates with your brand’s audience on the app.
PG Tip: When creating a social media campaign or working with TikTok influencers, make sure to choose those that resonate with your brand’s values and are genuinely interested in your products! And of course, don’t forget to work with a wide range of creators, including Disabled ones.

The powerful conversation we had at our second INCLUDED event is now on ExchangeWire! The article summarises some of the powerful insights and stats that were shared, as well as how brands can create real action that brings powerful results.
Inclusion isn’t the ‘nice thing’ to add to your strategy, it’s the key element that will make you stand out and generate better ROI than your competitors. Are you willing to ignore it? 🫣

This week we have lots of juicy updates from Instagram, starting with the ‘repost’ button, which I’m kind of loving? Now apart from liking, commenting and sharing, you can also repost content that your followers will be able to see on your profile. This wasn’t an unexpected move from the app, as TikTok has had this feature for a while. But Instagram is now copying Snapchat and creating a ‘friends map’, a feature that has been receiving some negativity.
Basically, it’s a way to know your friend’s locations, adding to that social element of the platform. The problem is that Instagram didn’t warn people that this would be activated automatically and it has caused some safety concerns. However, the app has reassured users that they can choose not to use this feature, or only share their location with their chosen friends. Still, it would be great to see Meta making sure this new update is used safely. And on a similar note, there is now a ‘friends’ tab next to your ‘reels’ section, where you’ll be able to see content your friends interact with.
Compared to previous updates from Instagram, these ones make more sense with Instagram’s focus on social connection, but we’re waiting to see how the platform is ensuring the users’ safety after these additions.
An interesting tinder conversation turned song, turned viral sound. You can use it this week to explain something you get asked often in your day to day life, whether it’s at work or in your personal life.

Specsavers’ latest campaign is not only great, but it shares an important insight around the ableism that exists in our society. The brand found that people are often ‘comfortable’ living with partial hearing, saying things like “I’m not deaf, I just didn’t catch that”, which delays them seeking help.
Being Hard of Hearing or Deaf is not something to be ashamed of, and Specsavers is doing a nice job at showing how avoiding the topic can cause more harm than you think.
